Holler Launches Women’s History Month Campaign to Remember the Past and Support the Future Women in Tech With Girls Who Code

March 8, 2021

Today is International Women’s Day, and here at Holler we’ve come up with a fun new way to celebrate and educate. There is still progress to be made in the tech industry when it comes to nurturing female talent, and Women’s History Month is an opportunity to inspire young women to break boundaries through celebrating the groundbreakers that came before.

This year, we’re excited to unveil a brand new sticker pack recognizing 15 trailblazing women. Inspired by commemorative stamps that allow you to send a little piece of history embodied in art along with your message. Intended to spark conversation, reflection, and education, the pack was designed by some of the female talent on our animation team. With Senior Animation Director Michelle Porucznik, Associate Animation Director Lillian Xie, and Production Manager Hannah Middlekauf leading the way on this launch, you could say we know a thing or two about the awesome impact of women leaders, especially those breaking through in a male-dominated field.

Each sticker showcases a fact about the often unsung heroes of the past. From the founder of modern nursing to the godmother of rock and roll, we’re excited to use these animated stickers to share some insight into these remarkable women:

  • Bessie Coleman
  • Eleanor Roosevelt
  • Florence Nightingale
  • Gabriela Mistral
  • Jane Addams
  • Louise Lawrence
  • Lucy Hicks Anderson
  • Mabel Pin-Hua Lee
  • Madam C.J. Walker
  • Meta Warrick Fuller
  • Nellie Bly
  • Rosalind Franklin
  • Sister Rosetta Tharpe
  • Susan La Flesche
  • Zora Neale Hurston

Through our work researching each of these women, we were inspired to follow their lead and support the next generation of women leaders.

As a technology company ourselves, we know that there is so much to be done when it comes to providing women with a seat at the table in our industry, and we want to be a part of the change. To help provide opportunities, education and encouragement for the female engineers, data pros, researchers (and so much more) of tomorrow, we are teaming up with Girls Who Code, a non-profit building the world’s largest pipeline of future female engineers.

As part of the campaign, Holler will donate $0.10 to Girls Who Code each time a consumer in the US uses one of 15 Women’s History Month celebratory stickers from March 1, 2021 to March 31, 2021 via apps and keyboards with a Holler integration or through the Holler iMessage extension. There will be a limit of one donation per consumer with a max donation of $5,000.

It’s important to learn and share the stories of these history-making women, which is why we felt the vibrant Women’s History Month Sticker pack was a perfect way to spread the news and spark important conversations. It’s a great way to allow everyone a chance to join in to celebrate the women in their lives and help support future generations.

To use these commemorative stamps in your messages, you can simply type in “#WHM” anywhere you find Holler or download the free Holler Stickers app for iOS in the App Store.
